Introduction
In an effort to make Greek life more affordable to potential
new members (PNMs), thereby growing the Greek community at Penn,
the Panhellenic Council proposes a dues scholarship. Often times,
many freshmen and transfer students never contemplate the possibility
of going through recruitment and joining a Greek organization
largely because of financial and time commitments, among other
reasons. The Greek community benefits from the added potential
leadership, opportunities for brother/sisterhood, and resources
by tapping this particular segment of the student population.
With the creation of a dues scholarship, the Panhellenic Council
hopes that the removal of one potential financial roadblock will
encourage more undergraduates to consider Greek life.
